Final Report Analysis: Harvest to Retail for Agriculture Value Chains

Food loss remains a significant barrier to achieving efficiency and sustainability within Cambodia’s agri-food system. Losses occurring between harvest and the point of retail not only impact farmer incomes and consumer access to affordable food but also represent missed economic opportunities and increased environmental pressures.

In response to this challenge, a consultancy assignment was commissioned under the ASCA Project, with the overarching goal of understanding, mapping, and quantifying food loss occurring along key stages of the post-harvest supply chain. The insights generated from this study are intended to inform the development of a valorisation strategy and identify high-potential pilot initiatives that can reduce food loss and maximise the use of agricultural by-products.
